What many learn after entering the cammodel industry is it’s not enough to just turn on your webcam and smile because before all of that you may need to promote yourself. As a cammodel you will find yourself wearing many different hats that can range from website designer, social media specialist and then finally a camgirl performer. And although many of us know that self promotion on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr may be essential, it helps to understand how important it is to use social media to increase our cammodel brand. The how and the what seems to be a huge mystery when deciding what to share when it comes to content. The truth is it’s all about content and how to use and cultivate images that tell a story about who you are as a cammodel.
Content Is King & It’s Everywhere
The concept that Content is King derives from an article written by tech pioneer Bill Gates in 1996. It’s probably one of the most used phrases in regards to marketing and building a brand. Why is it so important and often used 20 years later? The act of creating a narrative with visual images and cultivating a brand that demonstrates who you are as a product is quite possibly more relevant now in 2017 than it ever was. Today anyone with the general knowledge of what it is that they want to project can achieve a successful campaign with the help of online apps and free software.
Picmonkey Is Free And Amazing
Well Picmonkey isn’t completely free to use if you want to use add on features like it’s storage unit simply called Hub. This is for Premium users and it lets you edit your overlays and text after you’ve saved them. Essentially the Hub is a hosting or as everyone likes to refer to hosting these days as in the Cloud. Hub also lets you keep all your photos in one convenient location, so it’s easy to pull them up when you want to edit them. Although it’s quite possible to use Picmonkey without paying the premium price of $7.99 a month, I have to admit that using it to it’s full potential can save space on your hard drive and makes access much easier across multiple devices. Not only do I use Picmonkey on my desktop to create promotional materials for blogging, tweeting and posting images, I can also use it on my mobile devices. This is great because at times when I may get busy and have to stop designing images on my desktop I can pick up where I left off later on my smartphone when I use the Hub feature.
How To Use Picmonkey For Your Cammodel Business
The ways that I like to use this service to promote myself on twitter is by creating banners and creative images that include taglines and personal quotes. In fact you can use it for just about anything including dank memes. It’s important when using social media to create marketing campaigns that show off not only your physical assets but your personality as well. One of my favorite ways of doing this is by meming myself. I pay attention to the top trending memes for the week and then I design promotional materials based on whats hot at the moment. If you stay on top of what’s trending and latest memes on social media you will never run out of ideas. And also it’s a great way to show how relatable you are.
What Is A Meme?
A ‘meme’ is a virally-transmitted cultural symbol or social idea. The majority of modern memes are captioned photos that are intended to be funny, often as a way to poke fun at it’s subject.
If you’re following the Boleyn Models twitter account then you’re probably pretty familiar with my love of memes and iconic gifs. Everyone’s using them and now as a result, all of the major social media sites have inserted their very own library filled with pop culture content onto their platforms. Everyone that is except for Instagram. They have enough things going own at the moment and I suspect that having a content library may not blend too well with their set up.
However it’s taken off everywhere else mainly because self expression via meme’s has taken a life form set apart from day to day communications. Because most social media users access their accounts via mobile and quite often are faced with character limitations, it’s extremely important that messages are properly conveyed in even the of smallest spaces. The use of memes and gifs is a true art form and not to be taken lightly. 😉 I recently discovered that Giphy the largest gif library on the internet has an employee with the title of “Cultural Gif Editor”. That’s someone’s job!
By no means am I questioning the validity of this position or if it’s something that requires an actual skill set. Nope not at all. My point is that because creating content as a form of expression is essential for self-promotion, I get slightly annoyed when combing through libraries to articulate my online musings. Instead I create my own with easy image makers like PicMonkey and several other mobile applications. It’s really the only way that I can ensure that my content matches my industry and the messages that I’d like to convey. Or…I could just blog about it.
